Seoul Forest Station Smoking Areas — D-Tower Forest and Seoul Forest Fourhue Booths (On-Site Photos)
Right in front of Seoul Forest Station there are two smart smoking booths run by Seongdong-gu: one in front of D-Tower Forest, about 90 m south of the station, and one in front of Seoul Forest Fourhue, about 170 m away. Both are fully enclosed on all sides, so smoke does not leak out. Both have on-site photos sent in by users, so you can see what they look like before you go. The Seoul Forest park and café street area is crowded and mostly non-smoking, so these two booths are the sure option.

In front of D-Tower Forest — the booth closest to the station
It is about 90 m south of Seoul Forest Station, a 1–2 minute walk. It is a fully enclosed smart smoking booth installed on the sidewalk along the main road by Acro Seoul Forest D-Tower; it is closed on all sides and has ventilation equipment, so smoke does not leak out. It is registered in the designated smoking area data published by Seongdong-gu, and on-site photos sent in by users are posted. It is on the way from the station toward Seoul Forest, so it is convenient to stop by before entering the park.
In front of Seoul Forest Fourhue — the second booth
It is a little further south of the D-Tower booth, about 170 m from Seoul Forest Station. It is a fully enclosed booth in front of Seoul Forest Fourhue near 656-3 Seongsu-dong 1-ga, and on-site photos are posted for it as well. If the D-Tower booth is crowded or has a line, it is an alternative just one block further. The two booths are less than 100 m apart, so it makes little difference which one you use.
If you can walk a little further — Seoul Forest Samsung IT Valley
About 630 m northeast, near 13-164 Seongsu-dong 1-ga, there is another fully enclosed booth in front of Seoul Forest Samsung IT Valley. It is closer if you are heading toward the Seongsu-dong office area. Further east, the areas in the Seongsu Station guide continue.
What to do in Seoul Forest park
Inside Seoul Forest park is a non-smoking zone. When you leave the park and head back toward the station, the booth in front of D-Tower Forest is the closest, just a few minutes from the park's main gate. If you will be in the park for a long time for a picnic or a run, it is easier to stop by before you go in. If you are caught smoking in the park or on the walking paths, you may be fined.
Where to dispose of cigarette butts
There are no registered cigarette butt bins yet within 800 m of Seoul Forest Station. Both booths are fully enclosed and have ashtrays inside, so please use them. The park and cafés sit right next to each other around Seoul Forest, so butts thrown on the ground stand out here. This site is not meant to encourage smoking; it was made to show both where you can smoke and where to dispose of butts. If people can't find a designated area and smoke on the street, they run into non-smokers, and butts thrown on the ground clog storm drains and worsen flooding or lead to fires and ocean pollution. The location information on this page was collected for the same purpose, so please be sure to put your butts in an ashtray or a bin.
Things to note
Smoking is banned inside Seoul Forest Station and on the platforms, in Seoul Forest park, and on most sidewalks. If you are caught smoking outside a designated area, you may be fined up to 100,000 won under the National Health Promotion Act, and littering cigarette butts may carry a 50,000 won fine. Both booths are run by Seongdong-gu, so they may be closed temporarily for inspection or repairs.
