Jamsil Station Smoking Areas — Exits 10–11 and the Lotte World Mall Booth (On-Site Photos)
Two smoking areas are registered around Jamsil Station: the area on the Exits 10–11 side, and the open Lotte World Mall smoking booth about 126 m northwest of it. Both have on-site photos sent in by users (3 for Lotte World Mall, 1 for the exit side), so you can see what they look like before you go. Jamsil is busy with people moving between the station, the mall and the baseball stadium, so smoking on the street puts you right in their path — it is better to know where the two spots are before you head out.

Exits 10–11 — separate e-cigarette and regular cigarette sections
This is a partially open area on the Jamsil Station Exits 10 and 11 side. According to the report, it is divided into an e-cigarette section and a regular cigarette section. If you only use heated tobacco, you don't have to step into the smoke, and the same goes the other way. A partially open area has only some walls or a roof, so it doesn't fully keep out wind and rain, but it is better than an outdoor marked area. This spot comes from a user report with an on-site photo and has not yet been verified, so please also check the signs on site. Tap the photo in the list to see it larger.
Lotte World Mall smoking booth — about 126 m northwest
Walk about 126 m northwest from the Exits 10–11 area and you reach the open Lotte World Mall smoking booth. It is a designated booth registered in Songpa-gu public data, and three on-site photos have been posted for it, so it gives the most detailed view of the booth and its surroundings. An open booth isn't enclosed on all sides, but it is well ventilated. If you have just been shopping or eating at the mall, this one is closer than going down to the station exits. The two areas are 126 m apart, so you can switch to the other one in about 2 minutes if one is crowded.
Where to dispose of cigarette butts in Jamsil
Songpa-gu has not yet published cigarette butt bin locations as public data, so this page has no bin map. Both areas have ashtrays inside the booth or designated area, so please use them; if you smoked somewhere else, a portable ashtray is the safer choice. This site is not meant to encourage smoking; it was made to show both where you can smoke and where to dispose of butts. If people can't find a designated area and smoke on the street, they run into non-smokers, and butts thrown on the ground clog storm drains and worsen flooding or lead to fires and ocean pollution.
A little farther — toward Suseo and Samseong
The two areas above are the only ones registered at Jamsil Station. The next closest is around Suseo Station, about 2.8 km southwest. If you are heading toward COEX and Samseong Station, the areas there, including the rooftop parking booth, are listed in the COEX guide. Across Songpa-gu, the smoking booths in public data are Lotte World Mall plus three more — Hyundai Knowledge Industry Center in Munjeong-dong, Munjeong SK V1 GL Metrocity and Garden Five — and those three are all on the Munjeong–Jangji side, more than 3 km from Jamsil Station.
Things to note
Smoking is completely banned inside Jamsil Station, on the platforms, and inside Lotte World Mall and Lotte World Tower. If you are caught smoking outside a designated area, you may be fined up to 100,000 won under the National Health Promotion Act, and littering cigarette butts may carry a 50,000 won fine. On days with a baseball game or concert, the exit-side area gets very crowded, so consider the Lotte World Mall booth as well. The Exits 10–11 area is a user report, so its location and layout may differ from what is shown.
